What we've learned from Google's rules and real suspension cases, written for Shopify store owners.
- Suspended right before Black Friday: what to do in the first 48 hours
Don't send a review request in a panic. First work out what you have: an account-level or product-level issue, a warning or a suspension, and which policy. Fix product-level price mismatches right away, since sales often cause them. For account-level misrepresentation, fix everything before one review, because a failed review can lengthen the wait. Keep selling by email and other channels, never through a new Merchant Center account. - What 29 public Merchant Center misrepresentation cases have in common, and what they don't prove
We reviewed 29 public Google Merchant Center misrepresentation cases and used 28. All 6 reinstated cases that name a specific cause cite missing or inconsistent business details. Policy rewrites don't separate wins from losses: 8 of 9 reinstated stores that listed fixes made them, as did 8 of 10 non-reinstated ones. Most wins come from agency, consultant or video case studies, and Google confirmed no cause. - Google Merchant Center misrepresentation suspension on Shopify: the real causes and how to fix them
A misrepresentation suspension means Google thinks your store could mislead shoppers about who you are, what they will pay or what they will receive. It applies to the whole account: your products stop showing in Shopping ads and free listings. On Shopify the usual causes are inconsistent business details, incomplete or contradictory refund and shipping policies, and delivery or price promises the store doesn't keep. Fix everything first, then request one review. - How to request a Merchant Center review without wasting your attempts
Google limits how often you can ask for a Merchant Center review. After a failed request, a waiting period can start, and it can grow after each failure. So fix every issue first, complete identity verification, check the live store, then send one review request. Choose "I disagree" only if Google is wrong, because you may have only one chance to disagree. - Price mismatch between your Shopify store and Merchant Center: VAT, Markets, variants and structured data
A price mismatch means the price Google reads on your Shopify product page differs from the price in your product data. Affected products are disapproved, and persistent mismatches can lead to an account suspension. The usual Shopify causes are taxes shown differently by country, Markets currency and rounding rules, variant links that show another variant's price, and theme and app structured data that disagree.
